The Power of Not Giving Up
Life can be really hard sometimes! Maybe you’ve prayed for someone to get better, but they didn’t. Maybe you’ve tried to do the right thing, but it only seemed to make things worse. Maybe you’ve worked hard at something for a really long time, but you don’t see any results. Maybe you’ve made all the right choices, yet nothing seems to change.
In moments like these, it’s really easy to feel tired and want to quit!
But in Galatians 6:9, the Bible gently reminds us not to give up: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
In this verse God is telling us that our kindness, prayers, and hard work are not wasted. When we keep going and keep believing, even when it’s hard, He promises that blessings and good results will come in His perfect timing. Faith means trusting that the harvest is on its way, even if we can’t see it yet.
Today’s Scripture
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
(Galatians 6:9)

Breaking Down Today’s Verse
Let’s look at this verse to understand what each part means:
“Let us not become weary…”
Being “weary” means feeling very tired – not just in your body, but in your heart, mind, and soul! Paul acknowledges that feeling tired is normal, but he’s encouraging us not to give in to that weariness.
“…in doing good…”
“Doing good” means all the ways we show God’s love—being kind, helping others, telling the truth, working hard, being patient, and more.
“…for at the proper time…”
This part is important! There is a “proper time” or a “right season” for results. God has perfect timing, which is so often very different from what we want or expect. Just like a farmer plants in one season but harvests in another, there is often a gap between our faithful actions and seeing the results.
“…we will reap a harvest…”
A harvest is what comes from all your work. For a farmer, it’s crops. In our lives, the harvest might be seeing someone grow in their faith, a relationship that heals, a habit that finally changes, or spiritual growth in our own lives. God promises that our good actions will eventually produce good results.
“…if we do not give up.”
Here’s the key! The harvest only comes if we keep going. If a farmer plants seeds but then stops watering and weeding, there won’t be a harvest. In the same way, the good results in our lives and the lives of others depend on our faithfulness over time.

Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for encouraging me in Galatians 6:9 not to give up when life gets hard. Sometimes I feel tired and wonder if what I do really matters. Please give me strength when I feel weak and help me keep going, even when I want to quit.
Remind me that You see my efforts and that Your timing is always perfect. Help me to trust You and believe that a good harvest is coming, even if I can’t see it yet. Thank You for Your promises and for being with me every step of the way.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
