Does the word “Father” feel complicated to you? If it brings up thoughts of being let down, of being abandoned, of old unresolved hurts, or even abuse, please know you’re not alone. Many of us carry that weight. But what if this May, you could experience “father” in a completely different way?
This monthly Bible reading plan for May 2026, “God the Ultimate Father,” is designed to take you deep into the heart of God and how much He loves you as His chosen child.
It has been created to be an easy Bible reading plan that’s perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to go deeper without feeling overwhelmed. If you’re looking for a Bible reading plan for women (or men!) that focuses on identity, healing, and hope, you’ve found it!

Why a Topical Plan on God the Father?
A topical Bible reading plan is a really great way to study Scripture because it allows you to explore a specific theme from multiple angles, building a more complete understanding that a single passage can’t give on its own.
This May, we’re focusing entirely on the character of God as our Father.
For many of us, our perception of our earthly father is the only frame of reference we have for God the Father. It’s natural, and often unintentional to project the traits of our earthly fathers onto our Heavenly Father.
For example, if your earthly father was absent, you might struggle to believe God is truly there for you. If he was critical, you might expect God to be disapproving. If he was unreliable, you might find it difficult to trust God’s promises.
This plan is designed to help you dismantle those projections. This isn’t about religious doctrine but rather about relationship.
Allow Him to introduce Himself to you through His Word, on His terms, as He truly is: the perfect Father – the one who is always present, always loving, always faithful, and who will never let you down.
My hope is that by the end of these 31 days, you will have a richer, more personal understanding of who God is, separate from any imperfect human experience.

A Detailed Look at Your May Bible reading plan
Our May Bible reading plan is structured into weekly themes that build a complete picture of God’s fatherhood:
- Week 1: The Heart of a Father – We start at the beginning: love. These verses reveal God’s fundamental nature as a loving, compassionate Father who calls you His own (1 John 3:1, Luke 15:20).
- Week 2: The Father Who Provides – Move from head knowledge to trust. These passages teach us to rely on God as our faithful provider and source of every good thing (Matthew 6:26, Philippians 4:19).
- Week 3: The Protection of a Father – In an uncertain world, find true safety in God the Father. Discover God as your fortress, your protector, and your constant security (Psalm 91:1-2, John 10:28-29).
- Week 4: The Guidance of a Father – Feel lost? This week focuses on God as your guide. He promises to direct your path and speak to you through His Spirit (Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 32:8).
- Week 5: Living as His Child – The plan culminates in identity. Step into your rightful place as a confident, secure heir to God’s promises (Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6-7).
