Why This March Bible Study Plan Matters

Prayer can sometimes feel really complicated. Should you use fancy words? Do you need to pray for a certain amount of time? What if you don’t feel anything?

Scripture itself gives us most of these answers!

Over the next month, you will discover that prayer isn’t about perfection but rather connection. It’s not about getting the words right but about getting to know God in a real and honest way.

What You’ll Learn in This 31-Day Bible Reading Challenge

This isn’t your typical Bible reading calendar – I’ve tried to create it so that each week builds on the last, which I hope will help you get a deeper understanding of prayer.

  • Week 1: Why does prayer matter? What’s the point?
  • Week 2: Your attitude matters more than your words.
  • Week 3: What should you actually pray for? Praying beyond your own needs.
  • Week 4: When words won’t come and prayer seems impossible.
  • Week 5: If prayer were easy, you wouldn’t need faith – why you should never give up praying!

My hope is that by the end of March, prayer won’t feel like a chore you should do, but rather like a conversation you can’t wait to have!

How to Use This March Daily Bible Reading Plan

This reading plan is an easy way to understand God’s word, especially if you don’t have a lot of time. It works with your life, not against it. No pressure. No guilt. Just daily time with God and His Word.

Here’s how to make it work:

Pick a time that fits your schedule. Morning coffee. Lunch break. Before bed. Whenever works for you is the right time. Read the verse for the day slowly. Let it sink in. Then just sit for a moment and think about it. What is one thing that stands out to you? How could it apply to your life today?

Then talk to God about what you read. That’s it.

If you enjoy writing, then you can turn the reading plan into a scripture writing plan for March. Simply use your journal to write down the verse for the day, being intentional and thoughtful as you write each word.

You can then highlight anything that stands out to you and write down any thoughts or feelings that come to mind. Does the verse challenge you in any way? Does anything pop into your mind that you haven’t thought of before? Write it all down!

Why Prayer Changes Everything!

Understanding God’s Word about prayer isn’t academic; it can truly be life-changing! When you develop a consistent prayer life, you will find that everything starts to shift.

Here are just a few things you will notice:

  • Your stress decreases because you’re not carrying your worries alone.
  • Your decisions improve because you aren’t making rash and hurried decisions, rather you are waiting on God so you have time to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider all your options.
  • Your relationships improve and heal because you’re praying for the people in your life instead of just being frustratied with them.
  • Your faith grows because you start seeing God actually answer your prayers.

Beyond March: Building a Lifelong Prayer Habit

This is what happens when you commit to 31 days of focused prayer: you build a habit that extends well beyond one month! You will find that prayer becomes your go-to response instead of a last resort, and you will find yourself talking to God throughout the day naturally. You will also become more aware of answered prayers, especially those you have been praying for months or sometimes even years.

Once you experience the true power of prayer, you won’t want to stop!
