Alegreya is known as a humanist font that is available from the Google Fonts Library. It is an incredibly versatile font and it can be used in many different ways ranging from body text, headlines, and even bold posters. Alegreya was originally designed for literature and reading so it is perfect for books, manuscripts, or anywhere else where long sections of text need to be easy to read.

What Does Alegreya Look Like?

Alegreya is described as a modern font with a touch of elegance. It has clean lines and open letterforms that are quite similar in appearance to Vollkorn. The Alegreya font family is known as a “super family” because it includes both serif and sans serif fonts. It also includes Small Caps fonts which are just as beautiful!

The Alegreya serif fonts come in 6 font weights ranging from Regular to Black. It also has italics which brings the total number of styles in the serif family to 12.

Alegreya and Alegreya Sans (Including SC Variants)

One of the easiest ways to pair fonts is by using fonts within the same font family. And because Alegreya is a super family, you have so many different font styles to choose from. Remember to also experiment with the font weight, italics, and uppercase and lowercase lettering.

Alegreya SC and Windsong

Alegreya SC is a gorgeous font with a classic and timeless feel to it while Windsong is a beautiful script font that captures the flair of handwritten calligraphy.

Abel is a modern sans serif font with a clean and minimalist look and feel. Use it with Alegreya SC and Alegreya Italics to help balance your design. Of course, you could use Alegreya Sans but you will see that Abel has a slightly more narrow look to it which makes it appealing.
